For water lovers, Sarasota is ideal because our little city not only offers gorgeous beaches (including Siesta Key – America’s #1 beach!) but with our warm climate a swimming pool can used year round. Many of the Buyers I work with want a home with a pool or at least room to install a pool.

If you are thinking about putting in a pool, the price can easily run from $20K-$40K or more. There are endless options from the shape, size, materials, fountains, waterfalls, saltwater or chlorine, spa, type of heater, built-in cleaner, cage, decking… and more! In addition, in this area it is required to have a child barrier or alarm system.  You also need to factor in ongoing maitenance.

Before you start calling pool companies, I recommend having a little background knowledge so you know your options and can ask good questions.

Zillow recently released an article with the nuts and bolts on installing a pool. You can also search online for local pool companies as many of their websites offer information on these options and what is required by the country or state.
