Another Addition to Rosemary District

The building boom in the Rosemary District shows no sign of slowing down.
The developer of Citrus Square is back with a second mixed-use project on Orange Avenue called Courtyard at Citrus Square.
Mark Pierce plans 10 condominiums and 4,200 square feet of commercial on land just north of Citrus Square.
Construction on the new $5 million project is slated to begin next month and be completed in about a year.
The one- and two-bedroom condo units on the upper two levels will range from 1,000 square feet to 1,200 square feet. The two-level penthouse, with a private rooftop pool and patio, will be about 2,000 square feet. Prices start at $375,000.
Features will include custom-etched finish of exterior railings, copper gutters, 10-foot ceilings, recessed French doors and hurricane-proof windows.
Retail and professional storefronts are planned for the first floor.
Citrus Square, built in 2009, included 20 condos, retail shops, offices and restaurants.
Other projects planned or under way in the once-blighted Rosemary District include the 229-apartment, first phase of CitySide; the 30-townhome Valencia at Rosemary Place; the six townhomes at Vanguard Lofts; 22 condos at Risdon on 5th; a proposed 41-room The Sarasota Modern hotel; Rosemary Square, 39 apartments plus retail and office; Elan Rosemary, 286 apartments; and the 228-apartment Sarasota Flats.
