Travel & Leisure magazine readers voted on the 15 best islands in the continental United States, and Florida landed five of the coveted spots. Longboat Key came in at number 5 on the list, just behind Amelia Island at number 3. With hundreds of islands across the US, not including Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, being selected as number 5 is quite an honor!
Other Florida islands that made the list are: The Florida Keys at number 10, Captiva Island is number 11, and Sanibel Island at number 13.
